Hi all --
I'm trying to determine which NLE package I ought to buy, and I've narrowed down pretty much to Vegas 5 and Pinnacle Liquid Edition 5.5. Few things off the bat:
1. I understand that no tool "has it all", and all tools have their strengths and weaknesses. I'm trying to make an initial investment in a package that does all the things I need it to do, but will hopefully serve as my "primary tool", even when I buy others in the future.
2. I need a package that allows me to do capture, color correction, video & sound editing, titles, 2d & 3d effects, DVD authoring. Basically, I'm hoping to buy a system that will allow me to go from start to finish. If some of the features are mediocre, that's okay -- I'll replace those components in the future... just so long as they get me reasonable results now.
3. Need "professional" quality; better that what a consumer could get out of MSP or similar class of product.
4. The priorities: Quality, Production Time (stable software, auto color tools, fast rendering, etc.), Flexibility/Power, Cost.
5. All said, I've got about $900 to spend on software, give or take $150 or so.
Obviously, this being a Vegas forum, I'm interested in thoughts you might have as to what makes Vegas superior to LE, and also if you could point me to some comparisons of the two (I seem to find Vegas/PPro comparisons, but not Vegas/LE), that would be absolutely fantastic!
Thanks so much for your help!
Best,
-Tim
