Vegas was on TECHTV/ScreenSavers last night

On the Screen Savers show a caller was asking for the best professional video editing software. The first thing Leo and Patrick did was bring up the SoFo/SONY web site. They said they loved the Vegas software, but thought it was too expensive. What they didn't tell the viewers was the price on the web site included a DVD recorable drive. They compared Adobe, Ulead, Pinnacle, and SONY. They ended up telling the caller to try to get a student discount on Vegas.

Cool. :) I always liked those guys (got a sign picture of them too). We should e-mail them and say that you can get Vegas from BHPhotovideo.com for about 1/2 of Sony's asking price. :)

I missed it. Darn! Those guys are pretty good if a little silly sometimes. Of course I like silly. ;-)

Speaking of silly...Anyone ever see Russell Brown (Adobe) Photoshop Guru on any of the cable computer shows? I haven't seen him in years. He used to always be on.

I saw that and was actually shocked that they mentioned Vegas. I have always seen them reccomend Pinnacle and Ulead software as well as Dazzle products. That always bugged me since those programs are not very good and we all know how many bugs are in the Dazzle products!

I e-mailed them. :)

What time are they on? I don't have cable or direct TV, but I work nites at my job and can get Tech TV over a satalite dish.

7p to 8p Eastern with a repeat at midnight Eastern. One of the things I like best about the Screen Savers is in the first 5 minutes they tell you what is going to be on the show. That way you know in the first 5 minutes if you want to watch it, or not!

I LOVE that network, I unfortunately have a cable company that does not carry TECH/TV right now, how would I make them offer that channel without going door-to-door and collecting signatures or the like.. lol

Well, you probely would have to go door to door. What's your cable company?

If they say that they can't recieve it, tell them it's on C-Band satalite. Satcom C4 (F4) @ 135o West, transponder 12. :)

But if you got enough people to want to watch it, they will most likely try to put it on. I also found out just reciently, the FCC has decided to force the big cable companies let the smaller companies use the big companies programming, for a service fee. Kinda like how the FCC said a few years ago that the big phone company must let little phone companies use their lines (for a fee). By "big" i mean the company that owns the lines.

If you REALLY wanted to watch techTV, you could put up your own satalite dish (a 1.5+ meter one), but that can be enpensive. :) However, you get to see lots of network shows before they air! :)
