Vegas ,Windows XP Pro and 3XGina 20 Soundcards

Does anyone have this setup working well. I have used this setup on Windows 98se for a few years with no problem ,but I use XP on all other computers so I wanted to standardise but theres no way I can get it to run. I get lockups all the time ,the cursor in Vegas stops and appears to be looping on a couple of samples, the Clock keeps running though but the play meters stick ,the sound stops. The whole thing locks solid and I have to reboot to get the system working. You can make the symptom occur by changing the buss routing whilst still playing, something you could do with no adverse effects in 98se. I,d welcome any help as I tried to do this upgrade some months ago when Echo audio released their driver 6.03 but in frustration went back to 98se. NOw the 6.04 drivers are available, I tried again and get the same lock up problem. Thanks in anticipation.

I might be able to give you some feedback later this week. I'm using dual Gina 20's on win98SE and was planning to go to WinXP this week and try the new drivers for the cards. I just spent last week looking for all the firmware and driver updates for all my hardware before I cleaned out my system and went to XP. That's complete, so now I'm ready to hit the format button and try installing XP.......now if I can just remember where I put that Win XP CDrom at???? That's what happens when you put something in a safe place, so you won't lose it...you forget where that safe place was.

Hi ,

Just my little snippet before you return to win98se :

I have a M-Audio Audiophile .Vegas in W2k didn't work as nice and stable as it should with the Audiophile WDM drivers.Installed the NT4 drivers instead...now it works like a charm !Never had any lockups and stuff with it.

Since XP is(duh..ofcourse)quite (but not exactly as you might know)similar to Windows 2000 you might give the NT4 driverversion of your Gina a try..

Hope this helps.Or have you allready tried ?

Gerard.

Actually, that's part of the problem. Echo never released NT or 2000 drivers. They went from win95,win98,ME to WDM for 2000 and XP. No NT was ever released

There is something comming from Echo that will make you guys happy.

I don't know if it will solve the 3 Gina problem, but I would suggest you contact Echo. They are VERY helpful and know their stuff.
