Vegas with Roxio Question

I have been trying out Vegas 4 and DVD Architect and they are both top notch. That is not the question so PLEASE know that you will be preaching to the choir if you tell me all that DVD Architect can do and what wonderful and integrated experience it will be.

I just don't have the cash to do more than upgrade to VV4. I can probably swing to also upgrade my Easy CD Creator 5 to Easy CD & DVD Creator 6. Has anyone here used EC&D6? Is it *useable* for less than professional work? I'm hoping that if I have the need to create professional DVDs that the job will make DVD Architect a justifiable expense to my CFO/fiance. :)

Thanks in advance for your time, expertise and input...

You'll probably find that most experienced folks will steer you away from Roxio to Nero. I used Easy CD several years ago, on Win98, but I've been with Nero on WinXP and have had no problems. I've seen some users post that Roxio was causing problems with WinXP, but I don't have the details.

Nero is stable, well-supported by frequent updates, and doesn't install a bunch of hidden crap on your system. I hate hidden crap.

I have ECDC 5 Platinum and was thinking about upgrading to version 6. However, I read some reviews that say it's not all that great and that if you already have 5, its not worth it to upgrade. From what I understand, each of the creator modules don't work well with each other and the whole package seems very disjointed.

Here's a link to a CNet review (not that I always trust them):

Read the user comments. And, if you get Vegas 4 + DVD-A, you won't need the Roxio DVD software. That's what I'm planning to do.
