Upgrade your WMP to version 11 (or whichever is latest for your OS these days) and retry.

I haven't experienced this and I'm sure somebody else here has, but since no one has chimed in yet, it seems I heard about this somewhere....

Delete the clip from the timeline. Change the filename extension to .vob from .wmv . Then bring it into the timeline again. Let us know how it goes. Anyone that knows better than me, feel free to chime in.
