Vegas WMV file trouble

I have Vegas 7, I know old. And whenever I put a WMV file into the timeline, which plays fine outside of Vegas, the audio goes into the timeline but the video does not. I've tried importing and everything.... PLEASE HELP!!!

Upgrade your WMP to version 11 (or whichever is latest for your OS these days) and retry.

I haven't experienced this and I'm sure somebody else here has, but since no one has chimed in yet, it seems I heard about this somewhere....

Delete the clip from the timeline. Change the filename extension to .vob from .wmv . Then bring it into the timeline again. Let us know how it goes. Anyone that knows better than me, feel free to chime in.
