Vegas won't burn 70 min to a 80 min CD-R ?!?!

I've had no trouble in the past using VV3 to render/burn a 70+ minute project to my 80 minute CD-R's. Now, all of a sudden, I am getting an error message saying the file is too big for the media. (I am still using the same brand of CD-R's).

Any ideas on why this is now happening or how to fix it?

I now have two MPEG files (around 715MB each) that I'd like to burn, but when "burning an existing file" VV says it's too big, and Easy CD Creator also says it's too big.

Are there any burning programs out there that don't first disqualify the burn because the MPEG is over 700MB?

Thanks!

Have you been able to burn 715MB files before. The limit on an 80 minute CD is 700MB, and usually i have troubles fitting a file that size on a disc. I try to keep my renders under 695MB just to be safe.

I've actually been able to fit over 780MB on a 700MB 80 min CD-R. As long as the source video is less than 80 minutes.

Hmmm. OK. I just won't bother asking how.

I have noticed that i can fit more than 750MB of .WAV files on an audio CD. The tracks on an audio CD seem to be about 10% or so smaller than the 16 bit stereo 44.1KHz .wav versions. Maybe something similar happens with video data too.
