Vegas 17 wouldn't work after I changed to windows 11. I reinstalled the program and it opened twice before it wouldn't open again. What can I do to have to keep from reinstalling again?
Well you could try this: uninstall Vegas and then clear all registry entries that have Vegas headings. Alternatively you could download a programme to clear the entries. Or if you don't know how to do this, maybe visit a computer technician. It would be a quick job for him.
The reason I say clearing all Vegas registry settings before reinstalling Vegas, will almost defiantly solve your problem.
A clean OS install might be a better idea than an upgrade? Maybe now you need the type of program Cmin recommended to delete all traces of Vegas so you can try to install. No guarantees versions before Vegas Pro 19 will work with Windows 11, though.
Try reinstalling without uninstalling first, or when prompted. Then fully uninstall using a third-party uninstaller like 'Revo Uninstall' that can remove left-over registry entries and other pertinent data the OS uninstall leaves behind, which is usually the root cause of issues which reoccur when app is reinstalled. Revo Uninstall has pro and freeware versions. The free version is adequate in most cases, however if an applications cannot be uninstalled normally, Revo's pro version has a 'force uninstall' option.
Download issue: Received email from MAGIX with download link. Download of link works. Installation attempts result in Error Message from GIX Installation Manager " An error has occurred during communication. Please check your internet connection ...." Checked internet connection ( WiFi) and everything is good.
Any suggestions?
Checked Download FAQ. Recommends going to "My Products" after login but when I log in I don't see a My Products.
Background: I'm brand new to Vegas Software. Purchased the Vegas Edit version. Have Windows 10 and 64 bit capability. Have WiFi Internet
@linda-d This is another problem, but I think you need to give permission in Windows or security program that a program can make a connection on its own
