vegas working with FCP

Is there a good way to integrate vegas into a FCP workflow? Where I work they use a lot of FCP and full avid systems. I want to bring vegas and show them how much faster I can work in it than in FCP...but i don't think it will be compatible with the workflow as far as edl's, 10-bit, etc....

any advice?

thanks

Project interchange via AAF is the way to go if you want to use Vegas + AVID + FCP.

Vegas and AVID both ship with AAF capability built in, FCP will require the Automatic Duck plug-in for AAF.

So if I purchase Auto Duck for FCP I should have seemless cooperation between FCP and Vegas? For example, if I finished a project on vegas...gave to someone else...and they wanted to re-edit on FCP...all they would need is to have the auto duck for FCP? ...or should i get pro export auto duck?

Project interchange between different apps is FILLED with gotchas.

The right piece of the right media file going to the right place on the right track is generally the best you can hope for with an AAF transfer.

FX beyond xfades typically will not map well, if at all. You must of course use file formats/codecs that all systems can see. Test the round trip workflow before committing - don't assume anything will work perfectly.
