vegas10 veg - vegas9 veg not compatible?

I tried opening a Vegas 9e veg in Vegas 10 and get no sound and video plays too fast. Tried opening a Vegas 10 veg in Vegas 9 and it says it is incompatible. Win7 64.. Vegas 10 64

Update: after rebooting the computer I was able to use Vegas9 vegs in Vegas10.

You cannot open newer veggies in older versions of Vegas.

As to the other problem, I have no idea...

P.S. I am able to open older veggies in 10 without any trouble.

My Vegas 8 veg files open just fine in 10.

No problem here opening several 9.0e veg's in 10.0a.
