Vegas3.0 Audio Enhancements

I have been using Vegas Audio 2.0 for about a year now and find it the fastest and most intuitive program of it's kind. As we now see the beginnings of Vegas 4.0, I was hoping some of you more experienced AUDIO users might help me to see any features in 3.0 or 4.0 that would make it worth upgrading. For me, I only see very minor audio upgrades, but perhaps I am missing something. Thanks.

Maan, there was teardrops in my eyes when i've installed the v4.0 beta. I was so excited how will i feel with the "minor" upgrades...

(I found VEGAS the BEST audio multitrack enviroment for me, i use VEGAS to composing songs, doing remixes, recording, mixing and mastering for years. )

1. beautyful envelopes for eg the track vol - with the new "musical" shapes i really can emulate compressors.. GREAT compressors...
OK, it's not about the sound. I mean this function can't replace THE OLDIES WITH THE SOUND, but can do BIG MAGIC on the takes! It's breathing! (okay i have some outboards too.. :) )

2. Auto Ripple : helps me to move the markers, env points - this function is useful when i'm building drum loop and i want to move it to another position of the song.

3. Paste Event Attributes : lets me change the pitch of the takes (for eg) while the positions of takes remain the same. I'm using it to "tune" my drum track (individual samples and copies, manually sliced and expanded drum loops in SF) .... YEAH!

4. Automatable BUS volumes, pans...

5. ASIO...

This isn't the complete new features list of course, but these little things can save time for me, and can help me to try out more ideas. The main thing is the concept how i use this awesome software. I'm replacing/creating new kick drums, snares, tweaking live bass / guitar / vocal meanwhile i'm doing the mix.. I'm doing phase align to get the best sound... Everithing is changing 'till the last MASTER record.. I love to use the "special timestretch" function.(Wich takes a bit complex editing but the OUTPUT is worth it..)

If you want it - i sholud share my ideas how i'm using VEGAS in a bit different way...
But i don't wanna disturb all the others in this list with my broken english...

send me an e-mail.

w!

The difference between 2.0 and 4.0 is infinite and hardly "minor". If you're serious about audio, 4.0 is hands-down a monster winner (as soon as we shake out those beta issues ;) ... but even now the beta seems more solid that some previous retail builds!!!)
