vegas30.exe has generated errors

I just had a clean install of Windows 2000 Pro on my computer and reinstalled VV3 and reregisted online. When i attempt to run VV3, an error message appears that states: "vegas30.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program. An error log is being created." This is before installing the 3.0a update. Hmmm. The same thing happened after installing the 3.0a update. I don't even know where the error log is or its name in order to find it to have a look at it. I looked in the knowledge base and could not find an answer. If anyone has any suggestions on this issue, your help would be greatly appreciated and I thank you in advance.

If you search for *.log on your hard drive this will list all the logs file that have been generated by Windows2000. Click on the modified tab at the top (assuming your using detailed view) and you will hopefully find the log that has just been created. Good luck as they mean absolutely nothing to me.

I'd like to assume you un/reinstalled VV3 but your post didn't mention it. If not, try it. If you've done that and are still getting the error it must be some other program that's installed a bad plugin or something. Try uninstalling other audio/video apps.

I may have found the problem to this issue. I have a Hauppauge WinTV-PVR pci tv tuner card in my computer (www.hauppauge.com). VV3 worked prior to installing two drivers for the tv tuner card, I just don't know which driver is the offender, maybe both are. I received the error message after installing the drivers, named: w2kdrv311.exe and pvrpcidrv15_20021.exe. Has anyone had the same issue and if so, what was the fix? I appreciate any help. Thanks.
