I had written last week about an issue involving the inability of a downloaded trial of Vegas5 to save any layouts. Curious, I moved the trial file over to my Dell laptop, and was surprised to see that it behaved normally on that platform. The odd thing is that both my laptop and my desktop have exactly the same XPpro operating system.
So the issue boils down to this: for some reason, Vegas5 will not remember any layout changes made. In other words, if I open Vegas5, slide the preview window over an inch, close Vegas5, then reopen Vegas5, the preview window will remain the original size, not the new size. For some reason the program is not allowing any changes to the layout or the preferences.
But what could be causing this in my desktop, while my laptop installation behaves normally?
Incidentally, as mentioned in my other thread, I've tried three different keyboards: a wireless PS/2, a wired PS/2, and a wireless USB. No change. Help!
