I am in the process of capturing my old vhs video tapes. I have been doing it successfully with Vegas7d and Windows XP. I run analog s-video and rca audio out of the tape player to inputs on a Sony HDR-FX1 and from there it goes as digital video by firewire to the computer. Sony Vegas7 vidcap recognizes the signal and allows a capture. I start and stop the video at the tape player and the capture at the computer. Now with Vista 64, Vegas7d works fine(I don't use media manager) except in video capture mode. Vista and Vegas recognize the camera but vidcap displays only the video from the camera and will not allow the video pass thru. When I move from advance video capture to video capture or back, I see an instant of the signal from the tape player but something is forcing a feed from the camera tape only. Any ideas?
