vegas90k.dll

New install of Vegas Pro 9.0c both 32 and 64 bit versions.

The first time I launched the 32 bit version I received an error telling me that vegas90k.dll is not a valid 32 bit application.

Next launch was fine, as was every launch after that. However, if I open the 64 bit version, then the next time I open the 32 bit version, the same error appears. The weird thing is that the error disappears after about 10 seconds and Vegas appears to be running normally, though I can be certain as I only installed it this morning.

I've done google/bing/yahoo/ask searches with no luck, and there doesn't seem to be anything in the knowledge base.

Running Vista x64 Ultimate with 8GB RAM, oodles of free space.

Any advice?

Thanks in advance.

Turns out that for some reason the Vegas executable was set to run in Windows XP compatibility mode. Removed the tick, and all is running fine.

Weird that despite uninstalling and performing a clean install, the setting remained.
