VegasAudio won't install!!!! HELP!!!!

I downloaded and installed the most recent version of the
directx plugin (version 8.0) and when I try to install
vegas audio, halfway through the setup, I get a screen that
says I have to have the directx plugin in order to install
it. My only options then are EXIT and MORE INFO... HELP!!!!

Have you installed DirectX 8.0a and the DV updater? They
are both required.

YES! I HAVE installed them, and I'm still getting a screen
that says I need the DV Update. What's up with that??? This
is killing me... I'm doing everything "by the book" and
it's not working.

We've heard from some users that the DV updater doesn't
always stick in the registry the first time. At this point
all I can say is try installing/rebooting again.

What OS are you running? (only 98SE, ME, and 2k are
supported)
