Isn't that a little "HD" in the lower right corner of the box.... I like it.
Mikeof7 wrote on 4/8/2005, 11:25 AM
I do believe you are correct.
p@mast3rs wrote on 4/8/2005, 11:29 AM
The HD looks to appear on the DVDA3 box too. Hmm. Do we see the introduction to HD-DVD/Blu Ray authoring?

OK - so I've been doing some enhancements on this image - I'm tyring to make out what it says under the words Vegas 6 + DVD

Professional? - not sure about the first word for certain
then - HD Video, Audio, and DVD
last word starts with a C I think - anyway

I would guess that there's probably not Blu-Ray support yet, but that the HD is becuase it's Vegas 6 (HD) + DVD

Too bad nobody ever gets a box when you order the "boxed" version :)

Did anyone notice if you load those boxes into a 3D animation program, you can rotate the boxes around, where you can read the entire list of new features on the back of the box? Just a tip for those of you who are impatient.
p@mast3rs wrote on 4/8/2005, 1:28 PM
Huh? I dont see how since they seem to be flattened png files

Patrick, You're just not using the right software. The software I'm using, allows you to unrender flattened images and then recomposits the image into 3D form, which then can be freely turned around the X,Y,and Z axis. I can't tell you the name of this software at this time, because I'm still under NDA doing beta testing. I'll just let you know it's based off of high quality CAD system software, which supports Video plugins, and animation imaging recording functions. I believe there's other 3D imaging software that has similar capabilities though, you might want to try using the 3D compositing tools in Vegas once you import the PNG file. I'm no video editor, so I don't know the exact details on how to do that.

It's much easier to place a digitally created mirror on a blank screen, take the image of the new Vegas 6 boxes and place them on top of the mirror, slightly off-center. Then take a screen 'snapshot' of that and drag into Vegas then reverse the image and viola! You can read and see everything on the back of the package.

This is absolutely pathetic.

There is so much pent up demand for Vegas 6.0 and we are so hungry for the next release that we would lick the front label off the digital box if we thought it would allow us to see a reverse image of the features on the back. There is more anticipation in this forum than for a newborn baby (had one last month).

Now, if Sony would follow the guidelines for effective box design (including putting the top three benefits on the front), we might be better informed.

I pity the person who pre-releases the feature set... (although it was nice talking to one of the Sony Media directors at South By SouthWest Film Festival where he mentioned about five key features).

I guess we don't have long to wait. One of these days I may actually have the patience to order the box, instead of the instant download so I have immediate access. Sony should allow the user to order the download and for $10.00 more plus postage allow the user to also get the packaging. This way there is instant gratification and downloadable updates in the future (via our past order portal), plus the pride of holding the "baby" when it arrives later in the mail (sort of like finding out if you have a boy or girl before the baby is born).

The wait continues...

That's a great idea Steve, I hadn't thought of doing it that way. I'll have to make a feature suggestion to the developers working on this software I'm testing. They already took me up on one of my feature suggestion, I've suggested to Sony quite a few times in the past. That being a "Garment Removal" plugin. It's great, you load in a music video of Britney Spears, add the garment removal plugin and there' Britney dancing around naked. It's works a lot like Vocal removal plugins on the audio side, but for video. There only concern is that people will abuse the plugin, and start to load in episodes of Roseanne, and we just don't want to see that reality TV.

I just use my mouse to rotate them.

I think it's a feature of firefox. :)

cool. It will support openGL rendering on eigther Windows, Win64, or Linux. :)

if you have a previous version of Vegas, you CAN buy the box (or the baged upgrade) & still d/l V6 to use. :)

The only limit on the demos is the mpeg/ac3 encoding. If you already have a registerd MainConcept & Ac# encoder, you can use those in the demo.

Hence, you get it right away & a CD copy (that's what I'm going to do!)
