VegasVideo 3 DV capture problem

Every time I try to capture from my DV camera in VV3 (registered) it always says 'no video was captured' when the capture complete window pops up when I hit stop. Still the capture duration counter is running and I hear the harddrive crackling when storing the data (IBM UW SCSI) and I'm watching the video stream from the camera on the computer monitor. It says no dropped frames. What is wrong? DV capturing works fine on this same computer in Ulead VideoStudio 4.0 SE Basic wich was included with my firewire card (D-Link). Why doesn't DV capturing then work in VegasVideo 3.0 also? Has anybody experienced this problem? Capturing still images works fine though in VV3.

Thanks!

try hitting play on the camera first, then hit capture.

Have tried everything.
Uninstalling both software and hardware and installing again. But no luck, VV3 just doesn't want to capture anything. What am I doing wrong?
