Velocity Envelope

I was wondering if there is anyway to get an exact percent using the velocity envelope. I know that in the video clip properties you can set the velocity for the entire clip, but I need to have some of the clip play, and then set velocity to 0% then back up to 100%. The lowest I have been able to get using the mouse on the envelope line was 3% or -3%. I was just wondering if there was an exact way to do it. Thanks,
R P.

Hiyah!

1 - Add a Point

2 - Put mouse pointer over Point

3 - Right click - lots of options

4 - Use "Set to..." a window comes up and enter your value: Greter than 100% faster "-" values reverse.

Simple as that!

Oh, just done some experimentation too!

N.B.
I've found there is some type of "rounding-up/down", even when I manually "Set to...". I've found that -1.75 returns -2; -1 sets to 0; -1.25 sets to -1; -1.5 sets to -1 . . . Best I can get you so far. There must be some maths going on that is way beyond me.

Anyway you've much finer control. Maybe others can fill in the missing numbers!

Grazie, I've never tried fractional values but whole numbers will NOT round. Acceptable values for Velocity Envelope are from -100 through 300. When you enter -1, you get -1. When you enter 0, you get 0. However, to see movement, usually don't go below 10% or -10% and usually use higher values such as +/-50% or +/-25%.

Ed -

" . .I've never tried fractional values but whole numbers will NOT round." - I suppose that's the nature of whole numbers - I understand that. All I'm adding to the KB here is that I've found introducing fractional increments, + or - , can "force" single value changes, and it doesn't appear to me that there is a simple math logic to it - that's all, nothing more nothing less - yeah? The original Poster was asking for a better control of the 0 to 3% range. I went away and experimented - yeah?

Anway, just posted a Pan/Crop question. Any thoughts?

Yes, I understand the original question asked how to get exactly 0% which can be done, as you said, by right-clicking the node and choosing "Set As...". I've just never seen it change to 0 if I typed in -1.

As another alternative, if you make the track TALLER, you have more control without right-clicking. However, I always right-click so I can enter the value I want.

Also, Excalibur will easily set the velocity AND change the length of the clip to match the new velocity.

Ed - yer know what? I read the original question too, and understood as wanting to find out how to get lower values than + or - 3%! Meaning something like 2.99% >>> - 2.99%. My mistake was thinking that SetDatsun was using the default Reset back to 100 or zero=hold. That's why I went and did the experiments. See my approach now?

Just seen your feedback on the P/C thing -. See yah there!
