Velocity envelope handles inactive

I have a slomo vdeo clip
The speed varies across the length of this event
There is a velocity envelope line horisintally across the clip
I can reach the handles that are BEFORE the next crossfaded clip
But once the crossfade of the following video event starts I can not control the velocity of the variable slomo clip anymore
I see the velocity envelope handles but they refuse to be moved

I still want to change the slomo speed as long as I can *see* the clip... so how do I go about the. Any function that will "reveal" velocity even during crossfade / dissolve?

Right-click the track header and choose Expand Track Layers. That will display events on alternating "tracks" so you can see (and access) event edges more easily. When you want things back to normal, right-click the track header again and uncheck the option.

I don't know if this will work but,
can you put the joining clip on another track, still overlapping the slo mo track and still get the cross-fade?

Bstro, thanks - that worked just fine.

TGS, that would work too. But Expand track layesr was a cool, simple and precise solution that I liked ;)
