Velocity envelopes and associated audio

I am using velocity envelopes a lot with a project where a therapist is interacting with a child. To allow the voice over to explain a point just before we see it happen, I am freezing (0%) the action for maybe 8 secs, then releasing it back to 100% at the strategic moment, several times in the same clip.

The problem is that the audio continues in its original form during the stop motion, which means when the action resumes, it's way out of sync.

Is there any easy way of getting around this, apart from forgetting the velocity envelope and using created still frames for the period of the stop?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Ermmm.. something has to give! - But I guess you knew this . . . so what do you think would be solution?

I did stumble on a sub menu which allows for the audio to stay in synch, and that it would either keep the same pitch, lower/increase the pitch or something else . . . others will step in here, I'm winging it - yeah?

Nah! Don't give up VelEnvels ther're great stuff - there'll be a solution - betcha!!

You're right Grazie - there's always a solution.

Current thinking - because I'm going immediately from 100% to 0% rather than ramping down gradually, I can ungroup the audio, Split it directly in line with the envelope nodes and slide it along to where I go back to 100%.

It would get most confusing if I was using settings in between 0 and 100, but I think this'll do for now.

How's London - warming up? (I used to work in Chancery Lane - now in Perth WA)

Ho Chancery Lane - hey?! - A City Slicker . . . Well... Yup London is a bit. The weather is "changable". This moring is blazing sunshine - if a wee bit chilly.

Anyway, second test today against Zimbabwe at Durham. Ist Test we won by an innings and I think 98 runs - closed the Test within 3 days! - Yeah yeah yeah, can't really compare Zim to Oz - but at least it's a start. We've got a new young bowling attack - go see at the Channel4 website.

Anyways, seems like you've got a solution . . . .

Next you're up here - warm bitter anyone????

Being a Cricket follower myself (used to play for Shenfield out in Essex) I enjoyed several pints of Shepherd Neame's Spitfire last October.

Maybe Zimbabwe should pick Mugabe - he has a very effective way of dealing with opposition ;)

I'll let you know next time I've done enough video work to afford another trip ...
