Velocity envelops

I am using Vegas 5 and am putting in velocity envelopes to play a clip backwards. The clip plays backwords but the audio remains unchanged. How do I get the audio to follow the speed and direction of the track velocity envelope?

In addition when copying and pasting an event already on a track the video track is pasted but the audio track is not going with it. This is happening even if I group the video and audio track. Does anybody know what is going on?

No velocity envelopes for audio. Click on Support -> Suggestions above and suggest it. Lots of people have asked for it.

Of course to simply reverse the audio (from the help file):

Right-click an audio or video event in the timeline.

Choose Reverse Event from the shortcut menu. The event is reversed on the timeline, and a subclip is created in the Media Pool for the reversed event.

Reversing a clip with an envelope can be a real pain if you later want to edit that clip's length. So much easier with the right click shortcup and previously noted.

So there is no way to play an event in slow or fast motion and have the audio follow the same speed?

Sure there is. Hold down the CTRL key and resize the clip. The audio speed will change the same as the video. However, you can't dynamically change speeds.

Thank you soooo much. Does what I need for now.

One other issue. It seems that went I copy and paste an event the audio does not go with it. I did not used to have this problem but it is happening now. Even if the audio and video is grouped the audio does not follow the cut and paste operation.

You have to actually select BOTH the audio and video. It is one of the features of Vegas that everyone either loves or hates, but grouping only affects how events move together when dragged on the timeline and NOT what happens when you cut or paste.
