Velocity option

I have been using Vegas for over two years now, but I never really found something out in regards to the Velocity. Other non linear systems like Avid, FCP, etc give you the option of typing in the percentage you want to speed up or decrease a clip. However, in Vegas, there is only the slider, and you really can't get it as accurate as you want because the percentages usually jump up in incriments of 6%. Is there anyway to get more accuracy when using the Velocity option?

Right click the node and type in the amount you wish.

you know, my initial responce to this thread would of been "in two years you never looked in the help file?" but upon closer inspection, the V6 help file doesn't say you can right click to type in the amount manually.

wonder if it's in the V4 manual. :)

Thank you for the help. I can't believe that it was as simple as a right click.

I was curious about something. When you buy an earlier version of Vegas, do you get a free upgrade to the next number, or do you have to buy it?

Usually there is a significant discount for upgrading. If the new release is very close, sometimes Sony allows you to upgrade free.

Here's another useful tip I only discovered recently and I've been using Vegas for four years. You can control click/drag sliders to get fine control over the increment.

Thanks man.

I appreciate the tip about controling the sliders. I use Velocity all the time, and it has always been a thorn in my side.

I go to a post production school in Burbank - Video Symphony where I am learning the Avid and I have gotten used to the control that it offers. Some of the keyboard shortcuts are the same in Avid as they are in Vegas. But I was always a mouse editor, and having to go off the keyboard has been kind of hard to adjust to.

Thanks again!

you can customize the shortcuts in vegas to what you want them to be. it's in the pref's somewhere.
