Vertical preview cuts off early

I am doing some editing for vertical format videos in Vegas Pro 21 and have what I think is strange behavior with the Video Preview pane. I've set my project to 1080x1920 and have the clips zoomed in where I want them. One element has the picture-in-picture effect applied so I can easily position it, but when I pan it around in the preview pane it cuts off very early making it seem like I only have an extremely narrow strip to work in

This is the video with the preview at 100% but if I middle mouse click and drag to see the corners of the p-in-p effect to adjust them I only have a sliver of the available space that appears to be in the vide preview pane.

The same thing happens if I zoom out or in, with the preview pane not using the full area like it typically does when I edit in more traditional 9:16 formats. Is there a better way to create a project where I would have a larger usable area in the preview pane for easier editing? Is this something that can be fixed by me right now?

@SnarfConsortium Hi, this used to bug me a little but I realised it's no different to a 16:9 project, the only difference is the preview window doesn't auto adjust to 9:16 shape.

This is a 16:9 project, If I add PinP and drag it I loose the PinP controls on screen as they go off the edge, also if I middle click & drag the preview it goes off screen

If I zoom out then it all comes back into view

-----------------

So for a 9:16 project you have to image the preview window is like this. zoom in or middle click & drag the preview it goes off screen just like the 16:9

------------

I don't think there is any way to get around this, I could be wrong ..

Hi @Gid, glad to see that this is not just a simple menu toggle that I was missing when I looked at the preview pane to try and figure this out myself. Its frustrating to have to confine myself to what feels like a confined and small area to edit in.

Hopefully this is something that could be further developed to allow us more space or even a dynamic preview area of sorts when dealing with multiple and somewhat odd aspect ratio's.
