It technically meets the HD spec (720p), but of course, it's compressed quite a bit to fit the video on a SD card, so quality will take a hit. I'm interested to see how well the MPEG-4 codec they're using handles the task.

Neat little device. Doubt I'd ever use it for a production tho.

You might not but I guarantee that very soon a client will walk in, hand you the camera, and say "I need this footage edited"

And as soon as someone walks in and asks YOU to edit it, you will want to know why Sony Vegas doesn't already handle it in a "professional" way. Yea, right!

Sombody posted a link to some footage from this camera on the DVInfo newsgroup. It was VERY impressive. Just some family shots, but boy was the video quality great!

What the heck does "Super-fast 9Mbs Frame Rate" mean? I get the feeling that someone in marketing just wanted to write something impressive, and never checked with the engineering department about how to say it right.
