Very upset with Sony..hope they read this.

After reading all the problems here regarding the new HD 10, I'm not sure if I want to go ahead with the upgrade simply for the following reasons:

I have 'Movie Studio9 Platinum Pro Pack' and recently took advantage of the upgrade offer to 'HD10 Suite' through mail because I wanted the 'Package' as stated. After a week and already pressed for time, UPS delayed my package simply because Sony forgot to put my Apt # on the label. Today, I finally received the padded envelope just to find out that the enclosed content was the very same 'MS9 Platinum Pro Pack' (which I am trying to upgrade from) with no 'DVD-Architect 5' and no 'Sound Forge 10'! The invoice says ITEM NO ‘SPPMS10004’ ordered but the wrapped content is labeled SPPMS9004 -- as in Movie Studio9. Not to mentioned, I was charged $9.99 shipping for this and thought that I would actually be receiving a 'Boxed Content' and not just a plain ol' installation Disc along with some fold-out catalog of other Sony products!!

Reading the posts here, if HD 10 keeps on giving problems like what folks are experiencing, I'm not sure if I should go on with the upgrade. It seems like Sony not only couldn't keep up with the bug fixes, but are also having problems filling correct orders for customer upgrades....

...and sorry for all the forum members that took the time to read this small complaint, I apologized if you're here seeking solutions to your problems but instead getting something else.

Thanks for the heads up. My HD 10 Suite is supposed to arrive tomorrow. Can't wait to see if I get the same pathetic crap.

seems like you would just go with the downloads since you can repeatedly download.

hope they read this........ are also having problems filling correct orders for customer upgrades....

Contacting Customer Service would serve you better. But venting here is always welcome.

I will call customer service tomorrow again, the last two times I tried they were closed; including today after UPS delivered the envelope after 5:45pm PST.

I'm just upset because I've been waiting for the software so that I can finish up a project but couldn't do so because of bad timings caused by them (Sony and UPS). Only if Sony had not left out my APT number on the label, AND if UPS had any common sense at all that my full name and address is on the label, and also why they didn't took the initiative to match my name and unit number from the building directory -- although they did left another package for me that same day but they didn't leave the one from Sony's because an apartment # was absent??. I spent some quality time with them on the phone to straighten this up that's why they were able to send this to me today instead of another week like they mentioned.

I tried calling Sony to correct the situation after I got off the line with UPS but they CLOSED at 5PM MST. Upon seeing an envelope on my doorstep today I was puzzled and thought could it be my SONY software?

1.) this already ticked me off because I couldn't believe I paid $9.99 shipping for this little packaged,
2.) The software was completely WRONG,
3.) They closed and I couldn't do anything about it again,

Regarding downloads, I don't have a serial number for version 10, can I download and install it? The only serial numbers I got from the package are all from previous versions (9.0, DVD-A 4.5 and SF 9.0) and for BlueFX. I already have all of these installed on my computer when I bought the boxed version from Amazon.

You can download the "trial" version of VMS and DVDAS and use it for 30 days. When your UNboxed package arrives with the serial numbers, you can register it then. The install exacutables for the trial and what will be on your disc should be the same. Obviously the extras won't be in the trial but you'll still be able to most of what you need to do in the mean time.

You ordered 10 but got 9? Somebody messed up! Contact official support and they will straighten this, I'm sure.

I also ordered the "boxed" v10 through the Customer Service group and received v9 in the mail (the packing slip said v10, but the printed disk was v9).

I called Customer Service and they:

1) gave me the serial #'s to download the software VMS 10, Architect 5, etc.

2) they followed up and mailed the disk to me also

80sGuy, So they shipped the wrong item. Call them and they will ship the correct package. It's no big deal. But remember that Customer Service is based on CENTRAL time - not Pacific so, yes, they'd be closed at 5:45 Pacific (shoot, they'd also be closed at 5:45 Central as they close at 5:00).

They can also give you serial numbers and e-mail them to you. Then you can install and activate the downloaded version and simply use the disc, when it arrives, as a backup. So you could be ready to go TODAY.

As for the packaging, no you won't get a "box". This has been standard for all upgrades for a number of years. You will get a package containing a plastic bag that contains the same contents you would receive in a box.

So it appears the only real complaint is that they sent the wrong version. Call or e-mail them and they will correct that.

I called them first thing this morning and they cleared the whole thing up. I got serial numbers to all products and the disc is on the way. I was venting because I thought shipping was a bit much for such little content, plus, UPS couldn't deliver it to me on time for various stupid reasons caused by Sony. On top of it UPS had it in their hands while they left another package to me at that very moment and same day. Yeah, I guess I was mad at all of the reasons above.

Seems like I wasn't the only one receiving wrong orders; GoldenPlates (above you) had also encountered the same problem. Sony needs to step up on two departments: Quality Control (product updates) and Logistics (product fulfillment).
