Vegas Video 2.0 will not open VideoFactory 2.0 project files, only VF 1.0 projects.

Wonderful. I didn't know that when I upgraded to VF 2.0 from 1.0. Seems odd that your flagship program won't open ALL the file types for your other subordinate software products. Is there a way in VF2.0 to SAVE AS a VF1.0 file? Or am I just stuck until VV3.0 comes out (which I can only assume would be able to open VF2.0 files)?

There is no way to save in VF 2.0 as a 1.0 project. At this time VideoFactory 2.0 is the only program that will open projects created with it.

OK, what I want to do is move the one really good project I have in VF2.0 to Vegas Video and then ditch VideoFactory forever. Can I export any sort of EDL that would allow me to import exactly the same media into the Vegas Media Pool and then manually reconstruct the video using the EDL start/stop times?

Vegas 3 (when released) will be able to open VideoFactory 2 projects, but Vegas 2 will not open VideoFactory 2 projects-

You da man - just the answer I was looking for. Hopefully I can expect VV3.0 soon so I don't have to keep my hard drive jammed up with this VF2.0 project for too much longer.

I recently purchased VV3c and tried to open a VF2 file. Hmmmm. Missing lots of transitions and lots of other things it took me hours and hours to do. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

VV3 will open VF2 projects, and you should get all transitions, etc. There are two threads on this topic, in the other I asked which transitions are giving you problems?
