VF1 will not take more than 5 mins of footage in timeline

In any given project, after about 5 minutes into the timeline a friends VF1 no longer recognizes and then likewise rejects additional media clips. Just to cross check, I started a new project file with nothing in the timeline and, suddenly VF recognized and allowed the files it previously rejected. I believe there is a fix for this, but forgot what I did with it the last time I helped her. (It has since been "un-fixed.") It has something to do with a limit on the number of edit events one can put into a project. The fix unlimits this number. She has VF1 Version 1 Build 21 an is using it on PIII W98 with 187 MB Ram and a 60G dedicated video drive.

Thanks in Advance,
Chris

Hi Chris,

Your friend may be hitting the 75 avi limit of VF1. There is a solution posted here.

So what have you been up to lately? I'm a big fan of your work and noticed you haven't updated your web site lately. It would be cool if you could post some samples of the work you've done in Vegas. I'm sure it would be an inspiration to all of us.

Thanks, Jim! I have not done anything new in video for quite a while. I finally got a decent dvcam, but spend most of my time shooting stills with it. There are some pretty cool infra-red shots I did with it in my photo gallery. Currently, I am working on an experimental short that should be finished an a couple weeks. I got one of my shorts on a cable access show that will air in NY, HOU, LA and DAL very soon on the Jack E Jett show. I will also be editing the "shorts" versions of that same show. (Too bad it's a no-pay job, but I have fun at it!) Give me a hollar via the e-mail address on the web site and I'll keep you posted on when I put this new thing on there.
Thanks for the help!
Chris
