VF2 lost ability to recognize JPG and AVI files

HELP!!! VF2 cannot "see" any JPEG and AVI files anymore (not even from the content CD). It seems the only files it recognizes are MP3's and pre-rendered MPEG 1 and 2 files. The only thing I did prior to this was extracting a zip file that Sonic Foundry sent me to fix my Acid Style issue (program will not reinstall). This fix (according to the tech's instructions) will "fix" my registry so I can reinstall Acid Style. Rightly so, it did, but at the expense of VF2.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program in the hopes that it will re-register all the file format in the program but to no avail, the program still doesn't "see" them. I cannot drag and drop either and when I do, it says "None of the files dropped in Video Factory could be opened".

Please HELP!!!!!!

This is probably entirely to simplistic however I find many times it's the simple mistakes that are hardest to catch. In VF2 with exploerer open have you checked the view and selected "All Files". I had that problem when trying to find my first .BMP file and felt pretty foolish after 2 hours of capture and re-capture and saves....finally my wife walked by and said "is explorer in this application set to show all file extensions". Duh! "well of course it is honey".... Then after she went about her business I went in and made the change. Voila! There was my BMP file. I hope she never reads this forum.
