VidCap Question

When I first jumped on the Vegas bandwagon quite a few years ago, one of the first problems that I encountered concerned VidCap. When capturing video, VidCap dropped the audio for a few frames every minute or so (honestly, I can't remember the specifics of the problem).

On the advice of forum members, I immediately purchased Scenalyzer Live and have not had a problem since (a great, rock solid program).

Yesterday, I chose to try Vidcap again. To my surprise, it worked flawlessly! I'm curious...was the audio dropout fixed in the software, or did I solve the problem by upgrading hardware over the years?

Just curious.

Vidcap has always worked for me since 2004. How did you capture way back then? If you were using a video card and audio card to capture I can understand audio problems, but firewire has always worked for me. Also, I believe certain firewire cards don't work with vegas, I think it needs a certain type (texas intruments???) And, I think if you share the firewire port with other types of firewire devices, that sometimes caused problems or used to.
