Video and audio synchronization

I have an MPEG-4 video that's about 30 minutes long. Unfortunately, the audio and video slowly go out of sync. They start out OK, but by the end the video is lagging the audio by a good second or so. I can't find any obvious breaks in either the audio or video stream. The displacement seems to be happening gradually. Any ideas on how to fix this? I'm using Vegas Movie Studio Platimun V8.

Thanks!

well, I would expand the timeline out somewhat. Then find a spot, maybe midway, where the sound is just starting to be noticable that it is not in sync.

At that point you need to UN-GROUP the sound from the video. Right click on the video .. select GROUP .. select Remove From.

Make a CUT in the video and then drag the right side over the left side (overlap .. make a "disolve" if you want to call it)

How much?? I't hard to say. It all depends on how far you have expanded the timeline and how far you overlap. Try small amounts at first and see. You may need to do this a couple of times at various points on the timeline.

This works easier (less obvious) when the audio is lagging behind the video. In your case you either have to do it this way or ADD time to the soundtrack.
