Sorry forgot that it is during capture. I just did a 1 hours church services and I ended up with 33 small clips.

Are they all about the same size? Check Options / Preferences / Disc Management / Maximum size per DV clip. You may have enabled this. It causes a new file to be created every time the current file reaches the specified size.

Is this a continuous take, or do you start/stop the camera while shooting? If it's the latter, I believe there's an option to create a new clip upon scene changes (not sure where to find it since I don't use it myself).

Assuming that you did as baysidebas suggested (numerous start/stops), open VidCap and then go Options- Preferences - Capture and disable "Enable DV scene detection".
Your next capture will be one continuous clip.
