Video background copy

I have a mpeg2 video (rotating figurine video) that I would like as a background.. on 'some' of the main menu pages.
However... every time I add it to a page, the overall disc-size increases.
Since this redundant.. how can insert this once... which is the same file.. and use on multiple pages. I am already at the 8.5GB limit and don't want to re-compress anymore...
I should hope this is a result of my inexperience with DVA Pro
Thanks, Rick

If the menu pages are unique, then the disk use size will increase. Each menu page is rendered to a video (mpeg). So it doesn't matter if the background is the same. they are all unique videos in the end,

Each menu you create is going to render to a single new additional size increase as an Mpeg2 video of itself as DaveT2 attempts to state above. If you add menu pages to a menu - then one single background is used for the sequence - and pages will not add anything of consequence to the package. However menu pages do count toward limits of DVD spec.

One other thing worth mentioning - DVDA's calculation of disc size is pants.

Yeah, unfortunately each menu page is rendered separately, unlike title media, which can be repurposed without making multiple copies.
