I still have random trouble with the VV30c capture utility. About 50% of the time, I can capture hours of tape without error. The other 50% of the time, I get random errors ranging from:
1 - The capture stops before all of the footage is collected.
2 - After footage is captured, I get an error message (don't recall at this time) and all of my file names are Clip001.avi, Clip002.avi and so on rather than the files being names what I asked it to.
3 - Dropped frames.
I know there have been lots of discussions here about ways to improve the capture program, but after having one of those days where I just can get through a tape without error, I decided to try two other programs. Scenalyzer and the new Microsoft Capture included in their Movie Maker 2 program. Both captured without error and without dropped frames at a time when VV30c gives me fits.
I hope V4 will provide a more stable capture utility.
