Video Capture

I have been unable to capture video or anything else with this program. I am using Windows XT and a Panasonic SDR-H18 HDD Camcorder. The program does not recognize it but the computer does and says it is working OK. I have tried the fixes recommended in the help section but nothing has worked.

Generally speaking, you don't capture from a harddisk-based camera; you import from it. This will especially be the case if it has a USB port and no firewire port.

Try File > Import > Hard Disk Recording Unit if you're using Vegas 7 or higher. Or check your camera's manual on how to get content from it -- most likely either with software that came with the camera or with plain ol' Windows Explorer.

I'm having the same problem, but I can load my footage from My pictures file, into my computer.Try downloading your footage into a video file on your computer first, then you can load the file into your editor.
