Video Capture Error

jcannon wrote on 12/26/2000, 3:00 PM
When I use the Sonic Foundry Video Capture App, I can get
feed from my source to appear in the preview window without
error. (in this case, it's from a VCR) When I press record,
it initiates fine. But when I stop the feed, it gives me
the following error every time:

An error occurred while capturing from the device.

An error occurred reading the file. Make sure you have read
access to the file/folder and that it is not corrupted.

Any ideas? I am the Administrator on a W2K box - should
have no such problems. i'll take any help.
Thanks.

Jamie,

I have this exact problem in Windows 98 SE... I don't
really think that it is an accessable issue...

If it try it again, immediately after that, I can capture,
but usually, after one successful capture, it will crash,
and I have to re-boot to get control of the 1394 card back.

You're not running out of diskspace are you? Do you have
DMA enabled on the hard drive?

No, I don't believe that to be the case... the C Drive had
2 Gig free, and the D Drive had 40 Gig Free.... and the
captures I have been doing have been only a minute or two
long, that's all I can get...

Forgot to answer one of your questions...

Yes DMA is selected for both hard drives.
