Video capture fine names

Here is an interesting one. I captured a tape, but forgot to rewind it, so to clean things up, I ereased all of my captures, rewound the tape and recaptured again. But instead of restarting with 001, it just continued with a number like 091, and continued from there.

Is there a way to reset that counter without renaming my base tape name?

Sounds to me like when you deleted the clips you used the option to "delete clip information only". This removes them from the display in VidCap but leaves them still on your hard drive. When the next clip was captured after rewiding the tape VidCap saw previous files up through 090 so it named the next one 091 to avoid overwriting a previous file.

Try switching to the Advanced Capture tab and see if you can renumber there. I recall being in the same situation as you and being able to renumber the clips after capture.
