Video Capture- Firewire

I have my firewire hooked up to the camera and the computer, but when I open up Video Capture it says that there is no device detected. I checked the connections with the firewire on both sides. What's going on?

Have you got the 2.0c build, as this cured a few probs? Also the capture utility gets a bit sticky sometimes and you have to jiggle a few things, like hook up cam before booting up, or hook up before opening VF, plus in reverse order. Did you load Windows drivers as these work best.
