Video Capture, for VideoFactory

I am new to this software, in fact I just purchased it today. I am trying to figure out what I need to do to
get started, the help menu and manual did not sufficiently help. I have a 1394 PCI card installed with
a firewire connected to my Digital camcorder and I am not sure of how to capture the video on my
camcorder. I am not sure if I need additional software. I have the VideoFactory. The manual says it
has it included and to load it in the preferances but it is very vague. Any help will be appreciated.

Repeat from post 26
"On the VideoFactory CD is the user manuals for Factory and
Capture. The Video Capture manual covers outputing to tape.
I hate it when you have to read the manuals to learn how to
do someting!!! The name "Video Capture" is a little
misleading. It should be titled the "Video Capture and Tape
Output Utility"."

The additional software is on the CD. When the CD
autostarts, there are two installation choices - Video
Factory and Video Capture. Make sure you install Capture
also. The manual that comes in the box is only for Video
Factory. The manual for Video Capture is a .pdf file in the
Manuals folder on the CD. If you are using Win98SE you will
be limited on the length of video that you will be able to
render and transfer back to tape. Video Factory does not
have the ablility to record from the time line. The project
has to be rendered to an .avi file and that is sent to the
camera from the Video Capture program. File limit in
Win98SE is 4 gig I believe. If you are using Win2000, I
don't think there is a limit. Some of you video experts can
jump in and clarify this.

OKAY, did you purchase it in a store like BestBuy like I
did? I have NO serial number on my box - ANYWHERE and
nothing on the About VideoFactory dropdown menu in the
software! Can you help?
