video capture problem

phantomias wrote on 5/29/2002, 6:30 AM
I cannot capture clips in the standard 'capture' window. If i start capturing either from the beginning or from the current position, everything works just fine, and i can see the clips being recorded and put onto my drive. But as soon as I stop the recording, the report window displays, showing that i haven't captured any clips.
In the same second the already captured clips all disappear from my drive. I tried to move some captured clips to a different folder during capturing and it worked: they were just fine. So why does vegas delete them after capturing?
In the 'advanced capture' window everything works fine, but i need to use the standard capture for it provides the dv-scene detection.

Make sure you have updated to 3.0a.

In the Capture Preferences, disable minimum clip length or set it to 0.

Are you using PAL or NTSC?

Was this footage recorded in time lapse mode?

Thanks for the help. That was the key.
But.. what does 'lapse mode' mean?

Time lapse is a mode that some camcorders have that records a brief bit of video, then pauses for a while, then records another brief bit, then pauses again, etc. Typically it might record half a second every minute. When played back, the video will show things speeded up enormously. If you've seen movies of a flower growing from a seed to full bloom in 30 seconds, then you know what this is.

The reason this is an issue here is that each tiny slice of time will be a separate scene on the tape, and if auto scene detection is on then each tiny bit will become a separate .avi file. Usually the intention of a time lapse video is to be one continuous clip.

I have a trouble with advanced capture.

VV3 seems to work well but no clips captured apeared in the dialog box.

With standard capture it works well after I unchecked the minimum length.

What is happend??

Thanks in advande and excuse my english.

the 'key' was to uncheck the minimum length.
