Video Capture Timer? (OT)

I am trying to figure out if there is a way for me to use my Canopus ADVC 100, Pioneer A104 DVD burner, an old VCR and Vegas Video to make a digital video recorder. An old VCR provides the signal to the Canopus which is fed to Vegas Capture. What I am trying to figure out is if there is a way I can program the video capture program to come on and begin recording at a set time--it isn't important if I can't set it to turn off, just set it to begin recording.

I have had great results doing this manually. Can Vegas Capture be "programmed" in some manner? Other software ideas?

Yep, I betcha Remotekeys can do this in a snap.

It can trigger events based on time of day or window activity or gosh knows what else.
