Video Captureing

Why wont it read my video card. I have a 3d Voodoo3 3500 tv video card. Comes with the stuff to hook my tv, camera, you name it, to my computer. And it works with other things. BUT! not with the video capture program that comes with Vegas Video 2.0. It says "No Capture Device, No device control". But on the menu bar, when I click on it, it drops down and has "3dfx Voodoo3TV capture". So whats the deal??

Hello,

What version of Windows are you running? And did you install the Direct X video patch?

Let us know, Rockit

You can get the video capture DirectX 8 patch directly
from Microsoft here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/release.asp?ReleaseID=28377

It is apparently not necessary for DirectX 8.1 .

I don't know specifically if it will help with your 3dfx card, but virtually all of the other capture card manufacturers suggest using it.

Good luck,

What happens when you click on the Voodoo entry in the menu? You might try getting updated drivers, not sure how easy this will be tho'...

I had a similar problem with my WinTV card. I fixed it on accident. I have no idea if this can work for you but... I had my MB onboard sound card sharing an IRQ with my network card. For unrelated reasons I moved my network card to a slot that did not share IRQ's. When I rebooted, the TV card worked with VV3. Don't know why but hey might as well look into it. I am on 98SE

Good luck
