Video card recomendations

(I'm sorry if this is an old question.)

Rather than asking for specific video card recomendations, can anyone answer this question: What characteristics make for a fast video editing card? Great 2D? Great 3D? Or what?

Hello,

One of the very best (In my oppinion) is the Matrox G400 and newer versions (G450 and G550), good drivers, no troubles, very good 2D, fair 3D (isn't neccesary for video), two monitors at the same time (Is great for VV), and cheap.
