Video Corruption(?)

whenever i add a youtube-downloaded video, the audio stream is fine but the video stream spazzes out. none of my old downloaded videos did this. what is going on.

VEGAS is having trouble decoding the video; likely bad settings on the YouTube download. Did the software change the format it uses?

As a workaround a program like ShutterEncoder might be able to convert it into a format that works well in VEGAS. Re-encode /convert to h264 (limit GOP to the framerate in advanced settings), for example.
