Video cutout software

Does anyone know of any software for creating masks from foreground objects in video (not just chroma or luma keys)?

I can find loads of theoretical stuff like this http://students.washington.edu/juew/VideoCutout.htm#ggviewer-offsite-nav-9187672 and quite a few university projects but nothing on the market.

Thanks

Andrew

Edit: Just found mask generator on MSU site here: http://research.graphicon.ru/image-processing/gml-growcut-2.html It doesn't do video but is pretty good for free!

Edward Troxel talks about doing this in a newsletter article titled “Kids in the Picture” Effect .
Realistically though you'll probably need to get into After Effects to do this :-(

edit: do a search on Kids in the Picture in this forum and you'll get a lot of ideas on various ways to attempt this.

Thanks Mike

I do this manually at the moment either using chroma keying or exporting to images and masking manually.

For my current project I could do with something a little less time consuming as I can't use chroma and there are hundreds of people to explode ;-)
