Video dark for TV playback

When I render out of Vegas for Architect and burn a DVD...my video looks too dark on the screen. It looked great in Vegas. When I used to tmpegx for encoding there was an adjustment for that problem, but I don't find any settings in Vegas when I render. I do see the brightness and contrast settings in my preview window, but do I always need to add that video fx if I am going to burn a DVD?

You should check the brightness calibration of your TV and your computer monitor. Most people have the opposite problem, in that the view on the TV is brighter than the computer monitor. Is it possible you have your television's brightness control set too low? You shouldn't have to adjust when encoding.
