ive asked this question 4 times and no answers .... but I don't have a problem of it rendering that way .. (maybe because i dont render to DV) .

Could be just the different color spaces used by your PC vs a TV. Might want to post with your make/model of camera, what you're using to capture etc. If the video is Not darker when played back on TV (not on your PC), I'd suspect it's just the different environs, and adjust your workflow accordingly -> if intended for PC playback, perhaps just a tad of brighten or raising gamma - if intended for TV, leave it more or less alone, using an external TV monitor to check anything critical.

I am using a Sony DCR-PC100 Camcorder and capturing via firewire.
