I have Movie Studio Platinum and I am setting up again my program.

I did set my Project to 1080 and I did put a check in Start every Project with this setting.

Under my Preview Screen it says Project 1080 so this is good.

Now at the Top of the Preview Window I have it set to Preview Auto.

If I open a Video Clip that is Widescreen will it keep it in Widescreen and Display it as is in the Preview Window?

1080 is only one of the two dimensions required for an aspect ratio (aspect ratio is the ratio between the image's width and height). Assuming that you mean that you've set project properties to 1920 (W) x 1080 (H), then that is 16:9 TV widescreen. If you import onto the timeline a video event that has been recorded in the 16:9 aspect ratio then, yes, it will display in the preview window as widescreen (16:9 aspect ratio) because both the project properties and the video event have the same aspect ratio.

That's a repeat of your original question and has already been answered. In any event, this is something that you can easily ascertain yourself by simply importing a 16:9 video event onto MSP's timeline and looking at what happens in the preview window.

Preview auto has to do with the quality of the preview, not the size.
