Video Doesn't Exist or You Don't Have Access Error

Andrea-Ewald wrote on 9/8/2020, 12:42 PM

Hi! Hope you are all doing well.

When I try to import an MP4 file from my desktop into Movie Studio 15.0 Platinum I get an error saying that the video doesn't exist or I don't have access. The MP4 was filmed using a Logitech webcam and saved onto my computer, so I should have access. I can play the video just fine using the Windows media player and I can even import other MP4s into the project which are of a similar size (though not filmed with the Logitech). I am at a complete loss for what to do, here are a few steps I have taken so far as well as my specs:

- Cleared the Movie Studio cache

- Moved the video file from the Logitech folder to the desktop (and back)

- Checked the file sizes

- Restarted my computer and the program.

15” Samsung Notebook Pro (1920x1080)

Intel Core i7 85500

Memory/RAM 16gb

256gb SSD

AMD Radeon 540 Graphics Card

Any help is greatly appriciated! I have never had an issue like this before so I'm completely lost.

Mp4 is a wrapper and in it can be all kind of video's made with different codecs. It is the codec that is important to be abled for import in Vegas.
Si if you show us here what the MediaInfo of that mp4 is we can maybe give some help.
See here how to provide the MediaInfo: Info        https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-how-to-post-mediainfo-and-vegas-pro-file-properties--104561

Thanks for that Info.
Nothing looks strange on that file, so normally Vegas 15 Pl has to accept it.
You have also another error message that it does not exist. Did you try to move it to another place on your notebook than the desktop or the Logitech folder. If not than try it.

I've had the file on the desktop, in a folder on the desktop, and in the origin Logitech file. I'll see if moving it into the video file works, but I think I've covered the bases.

Edit: I moved it to "Videos" and now every time I click on the file to import it, the program crashes.
