Video effects on events

WestsideSteve wrote on 7/25/2023, 5:41 AM

Hi guys I guess I will find this out when I try it but off the top of your head.. if I copy an event more than once on a track to slide around and use later in a project can I put a separate video effect on each of the events?

Thank you.

Yes. But the quickest way to find out is to try it for yourself. 'Trial and error' is one of the best methods for self-learning.

Yes indeed. And that was and is my plan. I just figured if somebody popped up and said "absolutely not" that I would save myself 10 minutes of trial and error.

Thank you sir!

Maybe 10 seconds or less. It would only be a case of clicking on the event's fx icon and choosing an FX from the Plugin Chooser window that opens.

If you copy events like text as a new instance they can have unique Fx applied. If they refer to the original event then all of them will have the same Fx and changing one will change them all.

Yes I will likely copy the event and paste the event. Maybe two or three times. For instance slow mo, black and white, zoom Etc and then overlap them. And thank you sir!

Using the basic copy/paste FX approach, the paste completely replaces the FX on the event that has been pasted to - but what exactly do you mean by "overlap"? All there is on the event FX plugin chain is the order in which you place the FX.

Well I would copy the event and paste it two or three more times slide one to the above track one to the next track down etc. I would add an effect separately to all three and then do the fade in Fade Out thing and drag the ones at the top over the ones below kind of like that fade thing. Does that make sense?
