VIDEO ENVELOPE

I have set my video preference to Custom(1080x810, 25.000fps) But when I make a video it comes out at 1280x720 and creates borders to the left and right. What do I need to do to make the video come out in 1080x810 please, without the borders. Thank you in advance for any advice received.

Not sure what this has to do with a video envelope.

Project properties (preferences) only affect the preview while editing. When you render you must also set custom properties there to match the desired output. This does not happen automatically. The template you're choosing is set to 1280x720. Click the [Custom] button and change the frame size.

Note that many codecs require the dimensions be a multiple of 4, or 8, or even 16, so you may have to change 810 to 812 or 808 or 816, depending on which codec you choose.

Also beware that the Studio version of Vegas doesn't allow custom settings for all the different codecs so you might be stuck, depending on which one you're using.

Many thanks for the information, it is most helpful. I thought the envelope was something added automatically for varying picture sizes.
